Oriental Braised Beef Ribs Recipes

Marinade Ingredients:
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
2 pound  Beef Ribs
2pcs- Whole Star anise

Sauce Ingredients:
3 tablespoons Chinese black vinegar or balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil

Additional Ingredients:
2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 teaspoons minced garlic
4 small dried red chilis
1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 tsp water (cornstarch solution)

Directions:

  1. Combine all marinade ingredients expect the beef in a bowl.
  1. Than add the beef ribs to the marinade and stir to coat. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  1. Combine sauce ingredients in a separate bowl.
  1. Place a wok over high heat until hot. Add oil, swirling to coat sides. Add garlic and chiles and stir until fragrant, for about 10 seconds. Add beef and stir-fry until no longer pink, for about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.

Add sauce to wok; bring to a boil. Add cornstarch solution and cook in low heat for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until sauce boils and thickens.
